APTech Regrets to Announce the Passing of Ron Rose, President, Nova Pressroom Products and Dedicated APTech Board Member

Baltimore native Ron Rose will be remembered as a dynamic figure in the printing and graphic arts industry for over forty years

Reston, VA — The Association for PRINT Technologies (APTech) is saddened by the passing of longtime APTech member and Board member Ronald Joseph Rose, who died Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Baptist South Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was 75 years old.  Ron was a co-founder and President of Nova Pressroom Products in Jacksonville, Florida, and was a dynamic presence in the printing and graphic arts industry for more than forty years.

Throughout a long career with Fujifilm, Ron served in several sales and business management positions including Vice President of New Business Development at Fuji Hunt Chemical. In 1998, he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to take the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Anchor Fuji Hunt, a leading supplier of pressroom chemicals. In his various positions over the years, Ron achieved extensive expertise directing channel operations in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America.  

Ron’s crowning career achievement was co-founding Nova Pressroom Products in 2007 with his longtime business partners. Ron's son, Gregory, will continue to help lead Nova Pressroom into the future.

In addition to his leadership role as President of Nova Pressroom Products, Ron was an advocate for and an enthusiastic member and Board member of APTech who also served as Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, where he testified before Congress on behalf of the print industry.

APTech President Thayer Long remembers, “Ron was a huge personality who would light up a room and a Board meeting with his great sense of humor, which was often needed!” He was also a staunch exhibitor at, and proponent for the association’s trade shows GRAPH EXPO and PRINT.

Ron Rose dedicated his time to the association in many capacities, including committees and other activities:

  • Member, Worldwide Printing Industry Consumables, Inks and Substrates (Since 2016)
  • Member, NPES Membership Engagement Advisory Group (Since 2017)

His Board involvement included:

  • NPES Board Member involvement from 2009–2018
  • NPES Executive Committee involvement from 2011–2018
  • NPES Nominating Committee involvement from 2015–2018

Ron was an advocate, a mentor, an accomplished business leader and a friend to many in the printing and graphic arts industry.  He will be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him.
