Vote By Mail: Ballot Security and Moving the Ballot Through the Process
June 24, 2020 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

America’s election system is the bedrock of our democracy. In 2020, private and public stakeholders are coming together to ensure voting is safe, secure, and accessible to voters.
The increase in vote by mail is materializing, as we have seen in multiple primaries already. Casting a ballot by mail is nothing new, but it is certainly grabbing headlines. Some experts estimate that ballot mail could represent as much as 70% of all ballots cast in the 2020 election. As a result, understanding the security around ballot mail is critical.
During this 90-minute collaborative program between the National Vote at Home Institute, and the Association for PRINT Technologies, multiple aspects, and consideration of ballot security using Denver, Colorado as a case study will be discussed. Hear from election officials and technology experts on how each ballot is printed, mailed, tracked, and verified throughout the process. Learn the considerations vendors and election officials alike need to be aware of as they are designing their system and working with their respective partners.
